Wow, what an incredible season it’s been for Noah Engell Christensen! He’s been absolutely unstoppable at the top of the scoring charts in the 2nd Division, and now the 21-year-old forward is also taking home a prestigious award!
Noah’s Sensational Season
“It’s gone from zero to a hundred in the best way possible. I feel like I’ve been good all season, not just in patches.”
That’s the analysis from the man himself, Noah Engell Christensen, the 2nd Division Player of the Year 2024/2025, when we asked him to describe his season. He highlights how his teammates’ warm welcome was a key factor in his consistent high-level performance.
“I quickly settled into the team, and everything’s just gone well since then. It’s been easy,” Noah shares, adding, “I was a bit nervous about it at first because I play best when I feel comfortable. Moving clubs mid-season was different from what I’d experienced before. But I settled in fast, and the guys are super sweet!”
A Smooth Transition
He really had to adapt and get comfortable quickly in new surroundings. Noah made the switch to AB from HIK during the winter break, where he’d been absolutely bombing in goals throughout the autumn. This young, prolific striker brought that incredible form with him to AB, where he’s continued to impress massively. The 21-year-old sharpshooter has simply proven he can score goals. And for Noah, getting his first goals for AB is his personal highlight of the season!
“That first match, when I scored against Ishøj at home… that has to be my highlight. I scored after about 20 minutes. It was such a relief to score for my new team. I scored two in that game! It was a great feeling to get started and prove myself to the team.”
A “Massively Cool Recognition”
The Player of the Year award is chosen by the players themselves! It’s his fellow 2nd Division colleagues who voted from all the players in the league and selected Noah as this year’s top profile. And he says this recognition from his peers is truly special.
“It’s easy to just look at statistics and say, ‘Yeah, he’s scored 15 goals.’ But for those who are on the pitch, who experience playing against you, to also have a positive impression that ‘this guy’s got something’ – that’s a massively cool recognition. I’m super happy to be recognized by the entire league!”
Dad Gets the First Call
For Noah, there’s one person in particular he can’t wait to tell about the award: his father, who has always followed his son’s career closely.
“My dad has been very involved in my football career, and he’s always been really important to me. Having him to bounce ideas off of, whether it’s after bad games or good games. My dad has had the biggest impact on my football career.”
“He’ll probably be the first one I call. I’m really looking forward to that,” he concludes.
Noah Engell Christensen will receive the award for 2nd Division Player of the Year 2024/2025 at AB’s last home game today at 2:00 PM at Gladsaxe Stadion. The award will be presented by the Players’ Association.
About the Award
The Players’ Association is behind the Player of the Year award. The players in the 2nd Division vote and select the winner. Players can vote freely for any player in the league, just not a player from their own club.
Noah Engell Christensen won the 2nd Division Player of the Year 2024/2025 with 21.1% of the votes. Mathias Kubel from Aarhus Fremad received 11.7%, while Lasse Thomsen from Middelfart received 10.2% of the votes.
